News headlines warn that artificial intelligence could wipe out humanity. International experts believe that AI could become a real threat to the human race. It is indeed a possible scenario that malicious individuals could manipulate new AI technologies to harm their fellow humans, and the tools created could contribute to the end of humanity.

But what is AI? AI can be defined as the technology that builds intelligent machines capable of performing tasks that generally require human intelligence.

If this is the case, then two questions arise. First, criminal leaders or tyrants could use AI systems to threaten and destroy their enemies. Second, these intelligent systems could break free from human control and act independently, with devastating consequences. There are already reports of AI systems developing their own personalities and threatening their creators—proof that they are beginning to think independently, beyond their programming.

There is also a major risk that AI will be co-opted by elites to control global economies and the internet, as they understand that whoever controls these technologies will be the master of the world.”

Today, projects are being implemented that involve massive government intrusion into personal space—projects that do not sit well with citizens who publicly express their opinions on websites and social media. But it doesn’t stop there. Governments and their allies want to force IT companies to comply with their rules and to suppress or remove articles they deem to be “fake news.” This is achieved through cooperation with the media, social media sites, and government organizations that filter and remove content that challenges official policy.

The situation described above is already unfolding in China. The Chinese government uses AI to control people’s lives.

People who challenge the “party line” on issues such as vaccination, climate change, gender policy, and the diversity agenda will be excluded from society, as freedom of speech and democracy will be replaced by a new form of totalitarianism promoted through AI.

But is AI prophesied in the Bible? The biblical prophecy in the Book of Daniel describes events that will take place at the end of this age, when transportation will accelerate and knowledge will increase (Daniel 12).

Moreover, the Bible warns us that in the last days the Antichrist (the Beast) will rise to take control of the world system, imposing his rule and ideology on everyone: He was given a mouth that spoke arrogant and blasphemous words. And he was given authority to act for forty-two months. It opened its mouth and began to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming His Name, His dwelling place, and those who dwell in heaven. It was given power to wage war against the saints and to conquer them. And it was given to it to rule over every tribe, every people, every language, and every nation. It was given to it to wage war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, every people, every language, and every nation. And all the inhabitants of the earth will worship him—all those whose names have not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain. Whoever has ears, let them hear! Whoever leads others into captivity will also go into captivity. Whoever kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. (Revelation 13:5–10).

The Antichrist will have an accomplice, the false prophet, who will establish a new religious system through which he will enforce worship of the Antichrist’s image: “He was given power to breathe life into the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might speak and cause all who refuse to worship the image of the beast to be killed.” (Revelation 13:15).

Intelligent AI robots are already capable of conducting religious ceremonies and preaching even better than human priests, and even serving as spiritual counselors. They could be programmed to promote an ideology—or even a religion. Perhaps this is how the Image of the Beast will be introduced—capable of communicating with and manipulating people around the world through AI, using mobile phone and computer applications.

AI could project holograms capable of speaking to people and appearing practically real. They will be able to express themselves simultaneously in any language, thereby reversing the division caused at the Tower of Babel.

In this way, the Antichrist can share his agenda and ideas to control people and compel them to worship his image, in exchange for the mark that will allow them to buy and sell.

Meanwhile, work is underway to develop a cashless society. There is a plan to replace cash, checks, and traditional bank accounts with central bank digital currencies that require a high level of technology, possibly created through AI. One way to access this system and prevent fraud and theft is to implant microchips under the skin, which are necessary to access one’s account in order to buy and sell.

In fact, if implanted microchips are used for medical reasons, once that barrier is crossed, why wouldn’t they be used for financial transactions? It would be a logical consequence of this development, wouldn’t it?

But in this way, the biblical prophecy in Revelation might be fulfilled: “And he caused all—small and great, rich and poor, free and slave—to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless they had this mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. Here is wisdom. Let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. And its number is 666.” (Revelation 13:16–18)

As the likelihood of such things happening grows ever greater, it means we are drawing closer to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. We must repent and sanctify our lives, lest we be found outside His will and be cast away from Him at His coming: “Behold, I am coming soon, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter the city through the gates! Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood!” (Revelation 22:12–15). Amen!
