I am the Light of the world.
Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life
Jesus, the light of the world
I am the Light of the world.
Below are some of the signs that the Bible prophesies for the end of this age:
1. Wars, famines, plagues, and earthquakes will lead to a time of great distress on earth. Luke 21:10–11.
2. Violence will prevail on earth “as in the days of Noah,” and people will be terrified by what is happening. Luke 17:26–27, Luke 21:25–26, Genesis 6:11.
3. Sexual immorality will prevail “as in the days of Lot” (Sodom and Gomorrah). Luke 17:28–28, Matthew 24:12, Romans 1:24–27, 2 Timothy 3:1–9.
The period between the two comings of the Lord Jesus Christ
Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and for your holy city, to put an end to transgression, to make an end of sins, to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, until the vision and prophecy are sealed, and until the Holy of Holies is anointed. Know, therefore, and understand that from the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the Ruler, seven weeks will pass; then for sixty-two weeks, the streets and the moats will be rebuilt, and this will be during a time of distress.
People are wondering what the future of our planet will be. There is a great deal of fear mixed with confusion in the world regarding the financial situation, environmental problems, social unrest, violence, and wars. The current global situation harbors the potential for a new crisis that could generate chaos and anarchy, ultimately leading to the establishment of a global dictatorial government.
The prophet Jeremiah speaks of a time of trouble for the people of Israel: “The fierce anger of the Lord will not subside until He has carried out and fulfilled the plans of His heart. You will fully understand this in due time.” (Jeremiah 30:24). In Hebrew, “acharit ha-Yamim” is a phrase referring to the last days of this age—days that will precede the return of the Messiah, when He will establish the thousand-year kingdom.
Today, there are Old Testament scholars in Israel who link the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East to the War of Gog and Magog prophesied by the prophet Ezekiel, in which Russia and Iran (Persia) are the leading nations. In this war, an army united under the leadership of a ruler named Gog from the land of Magog (Russia) advances against Israel from the north (Syria) and meets its end in the “mountains of Israel.” According to biblical prophecies, these conflicts will reach their climax around Israel.
